If you have questions, we have answers:

How will you figure out my aesthetic?

Learning about our client’s wants, needs and style is one of the most important phases of the actual design process. We will ask many questions pertaining to the client’s likes and dislikes surrounding styles, colors, finishes, overall feeling and how the client plans to use the space. We ask your clients to share any inspiration images through Pinterest boards, magazine cutouts, art, or any even objects collected during one of their travels. Our goal is to create a space that truly reflects their style and personality.

Will you push me into a particular style?

We will never push a client into a particular style. From the very start of the project, we focus on learning about the client’s style and overall vision. We will make specific recommendations to direct you to an end result that is the best possible version of your style.

What kind of timeline can I expect?

Every project’s timeline varies depending on the scale and scope of the project. We maximize our time being spent during the design process to keep the process moving as quickly as possible. Our priority is keeping clear and open communication between us, our vendors, clients and all trades involved. At the start of each project, we will always ask what the ideal timeline is for the client and work towards achieving that.

How do you work? What’s the process?

Our approach is very hands-on from the beginning. We have a highly efficient system in place that will facilitate the overall design process starting with getting to know the client, to the creative phase, project management, all the way through to install and completion of the project. We will manage all of the many moving parts and bring you in on all the fun. Our goal is for you to enjoy the overall process, just as much as the outcome.

Should we do everything at once? How will we know what to prioritize?

Every project is unique, so our approach is tailored to accommodate the client’s timeline, budget and overall scope. If preferred, projects can be completed in stages. We will ask for a client’s overall vision and priorities. Once this is established, we will recommend specific steps/phases to maximize efficiency and cost, leading to optimal results.

What happens when things go wrong?

Communication for us is very important. We are always communicating with the client, as well as all of the vendors and trades involved. If something comes up, we work to address it immediately and will come to the client with a solution. Keeping our communication open allows us to catch any situation that arises and address it immediately.

Should I expect delays due to COVID?

Some vendors have experienced delays with production and shipping. We will always communicate with them and take note. We take these situations into consideration based on the client’s overall timeline of the project.

How often do you communicate with me throughout the project?

We communicate with the clients often to ensure that the project keeps moving along smoothly. We also send weekly updates on the overall process, products on order and installs. We are flexible in how this information is being communicated and will ask for your preferred method of communication.

What’s the fee structure?

We charge an hourly fee with a retainer at the start of the project. Our clients are billed monthly for additional hours beyond the retainer. We prioritize communication are very transparent as to how the hours are being invested on the project, maximizing every hour spent.

Additionally, we pass on any trade discount available to the client with a 20% procurement fee on the product. This procurement fee covers the actual time spent placing the orders, following up with vendors, coordinating logistics and service.

Does Manuella Moreira Interiors have a minimum project size?

While most of our clients hire us for full-service interior design, we always evaluate a project based on how much value we will add, regardless of the scale. We’d love to hear about what you’re working on—contact us here!
